Banpresto is a Japanese toy and video game company working as a private subsidiary of Namco Bandai.
Banpresto was founded as Hoei Sangyo, Co. Ltd. on April 1977. It went through a few name changes, working as a subcontractor for Sega's arcade games as Coreland in the 80s. Parts of the company were bought out by Bandai in 1989 by the time the company gained its current name. By March 2006, it became an entirely owned subsidiary for Namco Bandai.
Banpresto is known in Japan for selling a series of toys like plushies based on various franchises like Ultraman. It is also well known in the video game industry for Japan-only games, its most famous games being Super Robot Wars.
