Doublas M2 (ダブラスM2) is a Mechanical Beast debuting in Mazinger Z Episode 1, The Birth of a Miraculous Robot and Mazinger Z Episode 2, Stop the Ashura Army!.
Doublas M2 and Garada K7 were the first opponents of Mazinger Z. Both Mechanical Beasts are famous for their presence in the first episode and have ever since appeared together in several different media.
Overview[]
One of the first Mechanical Beasts deployed by Dr. Hell in his plan of world conquest, Doublas M2 resembles a double-headed monster.
A high-performance signal receiver is built into its heads, allowing it to receive commands from the Staff of Bardos from far away through its mouths.

- Thermal Beam (熱線ビーム)
A pair of beams fired from the mouth sections of Doublas M2's heads.
- High-Voltage Current (高圧電流)
A high-voltage current generated from the 6 electric terminals on Doublas M2's belly. Usable when Doublas is up close with the enemy.
- Missile (ミサイル)
Super Robot Wars-original weapon. Missiles fired from the body.
History[]
Doublas M2 was commandeered by Baron Ashura and his Ashura Corps alongside Garada K7 to attack the Photon Power Laboratory and obtain Super Alloy Z for Dr. Hell, causing destruction along the way. When things looked grim with the Lab's defenses proving to be useless, Mazinger Z and Aphrodite A arrived to stop the Mechanical Beasts in their tracks. Seeing how Kouji still hasn't mastered Mazinger Z's controls yet, Ashura ordered Doublas to bathe Mazinger Z with the Thermal Beam, engulfing Mazinger Z in flames, however this only managed to peel off Mazinger's paint. Doublas then attempted to get in close to grapple with Mazinger and electrocute the Super Robot with its High-Voltage Current, but one of its heads ended up being accidentally decapitated by Garada K7's scythe throw. Taking the chance, Mazinger Z finished off Doublas M2 with Koushiryoku Beam.
Trivia[]
- Along with Garada, Doublas has had the most appearances out of every Mechanical Beast appearing in nearly every version of the Mazinger franchise.
- His concept art design was later used for his Mazinkaiser counterpart.
