Danchel is a Mechanical Beast that along with Zaila served as the monster of the week in episode 6 of the Mazinger Z anime.

Appearance

Danchel has a greenish yellow lizard-like body but with human-like upper limbs and face with fangs and a horn sticking out of the top of its head.

Abilities and Equipment

Danchel can release liquid oxygen from its tail to freeze enemies in place. Its powerful back legs allow it to jump high to attack enemies. It can release electric charges from the horn on its head usually when the opponent is close. It also contains a storage space for the Iron Masks.

History

While Mazinger Z and Aphrodite A was dealing with Zaila in the city, Danchel was sent to the Photon Lab using the fog to hide itself. When it got close it opens a hatch on its left side to release the Iron Masks. The Photon Defense Jets were sent to stop Danchel but the liquid oxygen from its tails made short work of them. It later face a squad of tanks where they shot at Danchel. They couldn't pierce Danchel's defense but the troop of Iron Masks it was leading got blown away. When it face Aphrodite A it was ordered by Baron Ashura to destroy them. Aphrodite A back up into a cliff and shot its Oppai Missile in desperation but Danchel melt those away with it liquid oxygen. It tried to shoot Aprodite A but she manages to dodge all his liquid. Danchel then tried to tackle but misses and Aphrodite A manage to catch its tail, however her strength was no match for Danchel's who proceeded to swipe her away. It was about to finish off the now unconscious Aphrodite A with liquid oxygen but its tail was destroyed by Mazinger's rocket punch in time. It tackle Mazinger but was catch and thrown away. Its last move in desperation was emitting lighting from its horn which manage to shock Sayaka awake. Mazinger quickly finish it off by blowing off its head with a Photon Beam and Rust Hurricane to destroy the rest of Danchel's body.

Trivia

• Danchel along with its companion Zaila are the only Mechanical Beasts that lack the Latin letter and number parts in their names.
• The noise he makes when he jumps is the roar of Anguirus from the Godzilla franchise.
